Former minister and BRS leader Thummala Nageswara Rao reiterated today that he would contest in the upcoming Assembly elections, and would continue in politics till the waters of the Godavari touched the feet of the district's people.
The BRS leader who has been denied the party ticket for the upcoming Assembly elections came to Khammam district in a huge convoy, and was accorded a grand welcome by his supporters.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that he had dedicated his life to the people of the 10 Assembly constituencies in Khammam district, and always wanted the people to lead happy lives with the blessings of Lord Rama.
"In fact, I had decided to give up politics and detach my association with the district. The same was conveyed to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. However, after seeing your concern and admiration, I have changed my mind and decided to contest the upcoming elections," Rao said.
However, during his entire speech, Rao did not make any remarks against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) or Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He also did not say anything about changing his party or the name of Assembly constituency from which he would contest.
Thummala Nageswara Rao has been seething ever since the party refused him the Palair ticket, and two days back Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao, on the instructions of KCR, had called on him in Hyderabad and persuaded him against taking any drastic decision.
