TPCC president and MP Revanth Reddy today said that the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections would have a nationwide impact in the days to come.
Addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan along with AICC State in-charge Manik Rao Thakre, Reddy also said that the people of Karnataka had rejected CM K Chandrashekar Rao, who wanted to ensure the formation of a BJP government in Karnataka with the support of the JD(S).
He pointed out that KCR had appealed to the people of Karnataka to make JD(S) leader Kumaraswamy the CM of Karnataka, and also that Kumaraswamy had taken part in several programs of the ruling BRS party in the State.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the TPCC chief alleged that Modi had made all-out efforts to ensure the victory of the BJP in Karnataka, and that the people of Karnataka had clearly rejected the PM.
He also said that the Congress had won in a majority of the Assembly constituencies located in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, and that the results of Karnataka would be repeated in the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana as the people of Telangana thought on the same lines as those of Karnataka.
He added that his party had registered its first victory in Himachal Pradesh and its second in Karnataka after the Bharat Jodo Yatra of party leader Rahul Gandhi, and expressed confidence that the party would gain a third consecutive victory when Telangana went in for Assembly elections in December.
Reddy also said that his party would capture power at the Centre too in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The TPCC chief praised the Congress workers of Karnataka for ensuring its victory.
