BRS working president and IT Minister K T Rama Rao today said that the Assembly elections result of Karnataka would not impact the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, to be held towards the end of this year.
Responding to the results of the Karnataka Assembly election where the Congress defeated the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by winning 135 seats out of 224, Rao said that the people of Karnataka had rejected the ugly and divisive politics of the BJP, and that The Kerala Story had failed to amuse the people of Karnataka.
Rao, who is currently on a visit to the UK, said in a tweet, "Just the way Kerala Story failed to amuse people of Karnataka, similarly Karnataka election results will have NO bearing on Telangana (sic)."
"Thanks to the people of Karnataka for rejecting ugly & divisive politics. Let Hyderabad and Bengaluru compete healthily for investments & creating infrastructure for the greater good of India. My best wishes to the new Congress Govt in Karnataka (sic)," he added in his tweets.
