Kamareddy Urban Masterplan: KTR Unhappy With Officials
The Telangana minister expressed unhappiness at the Kamareddy district officials for "failing to convince the farmers about the proposed urban masterplan".
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao expressed unhappiness at the Kamareddy district officials for "failing to convince the farmers about the proposed urban masterplan".
Responding to the farmers' agitation at the Kamareddy district Collectorate, Rao said that the masterplan was still at the drafting stage, and that it had not been finalised yet.
Speaking at a workshop on Pattana Pragathi today, the minister said that the State government would not take any unilateral decisions on the proposed project, and would take all demands into consideration before the finalisation of the masterplan.
During the workshop, he asked the Kamareddy Municipal Commissioner why the district officials were failing to convince the farmers that the masterplan was still at a drafting stage, and that changes could be made based on the public opinion.
He also enquired about the death of a farmer who had reportedly committed suicide in protest against the proposed masterplan in Kamareddy, and said that the State government didn't have any intention to harm the farmers.
"If there are any demands from the people, the officials should receive them, and also clarify any doubts. The BRS government works for the welfare of people and the overall development of the State. It never works against the interests of the people," Rao said.
