Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today directed District Education Officers and officials of the education department to match up to the government's expectations.
The minister conducted a meeting of DEOs and officials of the education department at the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan office. Speaking on the occasion, he discussed the government's priorities, and urged the officials to ensure that the government schools and institutions made efforts for better standards of education and quality of teaching.
He instructed the officials to stick to norms and focus on achieving better results, including ensuring an increase in the attendance of students and checking the problem of dropouts.
The state government would provide all necessary facilities and equipment, and fill the vacant posts in schools, to surpass the private and corporate schools, Kadiam promised.
He also spoke about the Badi Bata scheme, school uniforms, toilets and other facilities to encourage students to join government schools.
