Jagan, Vijayamma Win Kadapa Elections
Y S Jaganmohan Reddy wins with a record-breaking majority of 6,00,000+ votes, and Vijayamma had more than 85,000 votes polled to her credit.

The much awaited Kadapa by-election are out, and there are no surprises. Y S Jaganmohan Reddy emerged the winner, with an astounding (though not unexpected) majority of more than 6,00,000 votes. D L Ravindra Reddy and M V Mysoora Reddy came in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
With this resounding victory, Jagan has also created history by becoming the political leader to record the highest majority of votes during legislative elections. It has been reported that the 5 lakhs+ victory margin of Jagan resulted in him breaking more than a 100 records.
Y S Vijayalakshmi Reddy (Vijayamma) bagged the Pulivendula Assembly seat with more than 85,000 votes to her credit. The Congress and the TDP contestants clinched the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
At the end of the 10th round of the counting of votes, Jagan and Vijayamma had 2,22,000 and 41,753 votes, respectively, polled to them.
Speaking on the occassion of Jagan crossing the 2 lakhs mark, a Muslim leader in Kadapa had stated that 95% of the Muslims in the district supported the YSR Congress Party President. The Islamic leader also expressed confidence that Jagan would cross the 4 lakhs mark.
At the end of the 13th round of the counting of votes, Jagan and Vijayamma had 3,09,706 and 56,523 votes, respectively, polled to them.
Jaganmohan Reddy crossed the 4 lakhs mark at the end of the 17th round of counting, with 4,03,000 votes being polled for him, and his mother, Vijayamma, continued in the lead with 67,000 votes.
At the end of the 21st round of the counting of votes, Jagan and Vijayamma had 5,09,000 and 81,550 votes, respectively, polled to them.
