Jayaprakash Narayan Calls Dalit Bandhu Immoral

The founder of Lok Satta also made critical comments over the recent by-election for the Huzurabad Assembly constituency seat.
Hyderabad | 9th November 2021
The founder of Lok Satta Jayaprakash Narayan today made critical comments over the recent by-election for the Huzurabad Assembly constituency seat.

He said that the politics in the country were gradually degrading. He claimed that the amount of money spent by the key political parties in the Huzurabad by-election was more than the amount of money spent by the two political parties in the Britain Parliament elections.

Commenting on the Dalit Bandhu scheme, he said that no political party had ever wasted the kind of money being spent on the scheme, on any scheme like that.

He said that it was immoral to use tax-payer money in such a manner instead of spending it on improving educational and job opportunities in the state.

He added that giving away lakhs of rupees of money to people like that was nothing but misleading them.

He also said that it was clearly not working - without taking the name of the TRS, he said that the party had not won Huzurabad even after promising the Dalits there Rs 10 lakh per family, and that he had heard reports of those who did not vote for the TRS even after taking Rs 10 lakh from the state government.
