Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, will launch the fifth phase of the Green India Challenge (GIC) on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday.
Vasudev's global bike campaign to raise awareness for the "Save Soil" movement will reach Hyderabad on Wednesday. To mark the occasion, he will be taking part in the event on the request of Rajya Sabha MP Joginipalli Santhosh Kumar and launch the Green India Challenge 5.0.
Vasudev will plant saplings in the Gollur Urban Forest block at Muchintal, Rangareddy district, and Santosh Kumar, ministers Indrakaran Reddy and Sabitha Indra Reddy, MP Ranjith Reddy and others will take part in the event.
TRS MP Santosh Kumar launched the Green India movement in 2018 after being inspired by the State government's plantation drive "Haritha Haram", a brainchild of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
