Reacting to the various election results that were declared on Friday, Lok Satta Party (LSP) President Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan stated that it was the sympathy factor alone that resulted in the
landslide victory of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Vijayamma in the Kadapa by-elections.
The former IAS officer had publicly condemned the liberal cash-flow that was witnessed at the campaigns conducted across the Kadapa district.
Moving on to national politics, he opined that the winds of change were swept into West Bengal with the
victory of Trinamool Congress Party (TCP) chief Mamata Bannerjee.
The distribution of color TVs to the electorates in Tamil Nadu failed to save DMK chief Karunanidhi from a miserable fate, and the people opted to
vote out corruption, stated Narayan. The victory of Jayalalitha's AIADMK, he said, might prove to be the beginning of coruuption-free governance in the state.
The LSP chief also congratulated Congress leader Tarun Gogoi on his victory in the Assam elections, as a result of which he will be serving as the Chief Minister of Assam for the 3rd time.
