After the thumping victory of the YSR Congress Party in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, the party's leaders from across the State are making a beeline to meet party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to congratulate him.
Jagan is set to take the oath of the office of the Chief Minister on May 30. A YSRCP Legislature Party meeting will be held on Saturday, May 25, to endorse the leadership of Jagan and make him the Chief Minister-elect. The party will then forward the letter of endorsement duly signed by the winning candidates to Governor E S L Narasimhan. Senior party leader Umareddy Venkateshwarlu made a statement to this effect.
The YSRCP is all set to win 150+ of the 175 Assembly seats, and 23 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats of the State (from leads at the time that this article is being published). In the process, it completely annihilated the ruling TDP. The officials results are not fully out yet, but they aren't expected to be significantly different.
