Don't Understand What Happened In Elections: Jagan

YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today held a meeting with his party MLCs at his camp office.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagan said that he was aware of the situation.

"You don't have to lose heart at these results. In the last five years, 99% of the promises made in our manifesto were fulfilled in a way that has never happened before in the history of AP or anywhere else in the whole country. We have implemented the promises in the manifesto as if it were a holy book like the Bible, the Quran or the Bhagavad Gita. Rs 2.7 lakh crore has been disbursed without any bribery or discrimination," he said.

"We released the calendar every year for what we would we do in each month, and implemented the schemes accordingly. We implemented reforms that had never been seen before in the fields of education, health, agriculture, social justice, women's empowerment and governance. These were all changes that had never been seen before," he added.

"We went to the polls only after getting the respect of the people. But I don't know what happened in the election. It is not possible to see who voted for which party. And we should not lose heart anyway. Five years have passed from from 2019 to 2024. Similarly, five more years will pass and 2029 will be here. The film has currently completed only its first half. You all know how we have risen in the past when things have been similar. The good that we have done for the people is there today. The good we've done going from house to house is alive. People still have faith in us. The loyalty to us is still alive," he said.

He said that it was possible that the YSR Congress Party could get up again. "It will take some time. We have to give that time. When that time is given, when their sins ripen, we will certainly rise to the top. Everyone should remember this. The most important thing in politics is character. Values, reliability. It is very important to know the meanings of these words. Politics is not just about power. How a man behaves even when he is not in power is also political. When you are not in power, there will definitely be difficulties. But it's up to us to choose how we react when we face those difficulties. Should we do politics as men without values and credibility when difficulties arise? Will we come back to power if we do that? You have to think about it. Our numerical strength in the Assembly is not very large. We may not get a chance to raise our voice in that house. You may not be allowed to open your mouths. But we have strength in the Council. Everyone should remember this," he said.

He also said that no one could do anything to them, and that their political rivals would at best be able to file cases against them. "What more can they do? During Chandrababu Naidu's regime, sins will ripen very quickly. We have all seen in the past how Chandrababu's sins grow in front of our eyes. When our government was in power, we did not look at caste, religion, region and politics. Every scheme was delivered door-to-door, taking only eligibility as the criterion. Every scheme was provided to every eligible household. It won't be the same in this new government, and it will be booted out," he said.
