Drug Peddling Racket Busted, 710 Kg Ganja Seized

On the evening of October 29, acting on a tip-off, police busted a drug syndicate and seized 710 kg of ganja worth Rs 2,25,50,000 after apprehending a drug peddler, Subash Bishnoi of Rajasthan.

The police reported that on October 24, Bishnoi went to Navarangpur in Odisha and collected 710 kg of ganja from the primary supplier in the State. He concealed the contraband in a secret compartment of a specially modified TATA container (RJ-32-GA-7695), and was on the way to Maharashtra via Hyderabad when he was intercepted and arrested at the Aushapur check-post.

The arrest was carried out under the direct supervision of D S Chauhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda; with guidance from K Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, Maheshwaram Zone; and the Ghatkesar police.
