Sleuths of the Hyderabad City Commissioner's West Zone Task Force today nabbed two citizens of Nigeria and one of Ghana for carrying cocaine and heroin worth Rs 50 lakhs in order to deliver to customers.
The accused were identified as Ajah John Chukwu alias Patrick Williams Uzonna, 28, a Nigerian student resident at Zaheera Nagar, Road No. 10, Banjara Hills; Bernard Wilson, 27, hair stylist, resident of Tolichowki; and Mason Lucas, 30, native of Ghana and resident of Mumbai.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the Nigerians used their local dialect to communicate and had established a drug network all over India, especially in the metropolitan cities.
Police stated that Uzonna had come to Hyderabad on a student visa. He was a regular at the city's nightclubs every weekend and would obtain and consume drugs there. It was in this process that he met one Davis Chris Richard Mueller, a Kenyan national who was involved in trafficking cocaine and MDMA. Over time, Uzonna evolved from being a customer of Mueller to a supplier himself so as to get into the drug business and earn easy money.
