Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay today claimed that he had run the party successfully after taking over as its Telangana president.
Accompanied by party workers and followers, Bandi filed his nomination for the Karimnagar Assembly seat today.
On the occasion, a rally was organised by the BJP in Karimnagar. Bandi along with MLA Raja Singh participated in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandi said that the party had won the Dubbaka, GHMC and Teacher constituency MLC elections held during his tenure as the State president.
He also said that he had undertaken a 150-day "Praja Sangrama Pada Yatra" and hoisted the saffron party's flag across the State.
He said, "30 cases of theft were filed against me when I fought against the leak of the TSPSC question papers in the State. They tried to label me as a communalist. It was the BJP that fought for dharma. Raja Singh and I have always fought for dharma. We have never given up on the saffron flag. Each BJP worker should ensure the casting of 10 votes for the party in the elections." He requested the party leaders to extend full support to him for the next 24 days.
Sanjay claimed that he had succeeded in bringing many Hindu voters into the BJP's vote bank. He also claimed that he had brought the Smart City funds and National Highway funds to Karimnagar.
He said that the whole of Telangana was eagerly waiting for the result of the Karimnagar Assembly seat election. He alleged that minister Gangula Kamalakar, who represents Karimnagar currently in the Assembly as its MLA, and his followers were rampantly into land-grabbing. "Also, if the BRS wins here in Karimnagar, the next mayor will be from the MIM," he predicted, and exhorted the people to vote for and support the BJP.
