BJP Telangana chief G Kishan Reddy today said that the party did not get the desired results in the Telangana Assembly elections.
Speaking to mediapersons at the State party office, he said that the party would respect the verdict of the people of Telangana. "We fought many battles for the last five years on behalf of the people. The Congress benefited from our struggle. However, in the coming days we will work harder," Reddy said.
"I will go to Delhi and explain the election results to the high command. We will review with the national leadership where the mistakes happened in this election and rectify the shortcomings. After reviewing, we will prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, it should be noted that the BJP's vote share in this election increased by more than those of the BRS and the Congress, and that the Congress has won by a thin majority," Reddy said.
Also, while the party could not do as well as it had hoped to in Telangana, the BJP's landslide victories in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh showed the confidence of people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he claimed. "We will come back to power at the Centre under the leadership of PM Modi," he said.
Targeting BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, he said that those who ranted against the BJP and spread false propaganda against it had to go to a farmhouse today.
