KCR To Hoist Flag At Golconda, Naidu At Vizag
AP and Telangana have both made elaborate arrangements for their respective Independence Day celebrations, with adequate deployment of police for security.
While Telangana gears up to conduct the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Golconda Fort in Hyderabad for the second consecutive time on Saturday, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister will be doing so at Visakhapatnam's Ramakrishna beach this time (last year, the flag hoisting ceremony was held in Rayalaseema's Kurnool district).
After the bifurcation of united AP, the chief ministers of the two resulting states have preferred different cities for the Independence Day celebrations.
While Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao preferred the historic monument for the second time, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has this year chosen Visakhapatnam that was rattled by Cyclone Hudhud, after conducted the event in Kurnool last year.
Naidu will unveil his plan for the rapid growth of this city backed by institutions and industries, and the roadmap to restore it to its past glory. Naidu is also expected to reiterate his demand for Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Likewise, KCR will come up with his priorities and objectives for Telangana at the event.
To mark the occasion, the states have both made elaborate arrangements for the national event, with adequate deployment of police personnel for security.
