In response to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's allegations of KTR having a secret meeting with Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh, the BRS working president, speaking to the media in Khammam today, said that no such meeting had taken place.
"If I needed to meet Lokesh, I would do so openly, not in secrecy," KTR said.
He asked whether there was anything inappropriate about meeting Lokesh, and added, "Lokesh is like a younger brother to me. He is a well-educated young man with whom I share a good relationship."
KTR said that if the Chief Minister had any real courage, he should present concrete evidence instead of making remarks that sounded like gossip at a social gathering, and criticised Reddy for trying to divert attention with non-issues and evading the real challenges.
He also slammed Congress leaders for making baseless accusations about him related to drugs and heroines without presenting any supporting evidence, and also rejected claims linking him to a death in Dubai.
"And is there any proof in even the numerous cases being filed against me? Even in the fraud case filed against me, Congress leaders failed to substantiate their claims. How long will they continue with such unfounded allegations?" he asked.
"We are speaking out confidently because we have not committed any wrongdoing," KTR claimed.
He also said that Reddy could never match the stature of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and lacked the capability to govern the State. "His family should consider admitting him to a mental health facility," he said.
