Hyderabad's Image Being Dented By TRS' Attitude: BJP

The party said the TRS government, instead of spending huge available money to help the city recover from the rains and floods, was haranguing the Centre.
Hyderabad | 22nd October 2020
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy today said that the image of Hyderabad would be dented due to the attitude of the state government over extending support to the flood-affected people of the city and the implementation of relief and rehabilitation measures.

He said that the state government, instead of spend money lying in the disaster management fund to help the city recover, was continuously haranguing the union government for money which it knew would follow a time-consuming process.

This was delaying the recovery process, and all the media coverage of the floods was hurting the image of Hyderabad, he said.

He asked the state government how it would get investments if the city's brand image was damaged.

The minister made these remarks after inspecting the flood-hit Manikeswari Nagar of Tarnaka.

He said that the union government would give funds on the basis of a report submitted by a team, but that that would necessarily take time however much the process was expedited.

He however promised that the union government would stand by the people of the state.
