Two Held Within Hours For Butchering Man

The Saroornagar police nabbed within 24 hours of the incident, two persons who had murdered one Billipuram Nagaraju, 25, on Wednesday night with an iron rod and knife at Panjala Anilkumar Colony in Saroornagar.
Nagaraju was working in a Maruthi showroom in Malakpet, and residing in Brundavan Colony, Saroornagar. He was a native of Station Marpally village in Vikarabad district.
Police said that the accused, Syed Mobin Ahmed, 30, a fruit vendor residing at Gurumurthy Nagar, IDPL Colony, Balanagar; and Mohammed Masood Ahmed, 29, a car mechanic residing at Taranagar, Serilingampally, Rangareddy district; had developed a grudge against Nagaraju as he had married the sister of Mobin Ahmed. According to the police, Nagaraju and Ashrin Sultana, the sister of Mobin Ahmed, had been in love for over five years as they were classmates from the same school and college. Mobin Ahmed warned her against her affair with Nagaraju. Despite that, on January 30, 2022, Sulthana left her house, leaving her mobile. The next day Nagaraju and Sulthana got married at Arya Samaj in the Old City.
On February 1, her family members filed a missing person case in the Balanagar PS. Mobin Ahmed also developed a grudge against Nagaraju, and kept trying to locate him. On Wednesday the two accused found Nagaraju at the Maruthi showroom in Malakpet and followed him on a scooter, and found him reaching Panjala Anilkumar Colony. From there Nagaraju and Sulthana started off for some place on their bike, and all of a sudden the accused stopped them. They pushed Nagaraju to the ground and beat him with a centering iron rod over his head indiscriminately, and also stabbed him. They then fled the scene of offence.
The accused were both arrested on Thursday and produced before court for judicial custody.
