The Hyderabad police seized 110 kg of cannabis at LB Nagar today.
They also arrested some interstate criminals during the seizure.
Briefing the media on the operation, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said that the Special Operations Team (SOT) of the city police had learnt that the accused were transporting the cannabis to Nagpur of Maharashtra from the agency area of Visakhapatnam.
The accused were transporting the cannabis in a vehicle carrying a load of bananas, Bhagwat said.
He added that the value of the seized cannabis was Rs. 18.50 lakhs in the open market.
Two accused were still at large, Bhagwat said.
The Commissioner also said that the police were holding anti-drug awareness programs in the name of Naya Savera along with the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Amrutha Foundation in both online and offline modes.
