Telangana Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar today issued notices to six BRS MLAs who had defected to the ruling Congress.
The MLAs who received notices are Dr Sanjay Kumar, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Kale Yadaiah, Tellam Venkat Rao, Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy and Gudem Mahipal Reddy.
In a related development, Kadiyam Srihari, the MLA from Station Ghanpur, condemned BRS leaders for making disparaging remarks against the defecting legislators. Addressing the media in Hanumakonda, he said that his decision to collaborate with the Congress was solely aimed at advancing the development of his constituency.
Srihari also said that during the previous administration, BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao had welcomed 36 MLAs into his party and had even appointed two of them as ministers. He pointed out that none of those legislators had resigned at the time, and mockingly asked if BRS leaders discovered political principles only now.
He also responded to the notice issued to him by the Speaker, and said, "I am collaborating with the Congress government solely for the development of the Station Ghanpur constituency. This partnership has already led to the release of significant funds for its progress."
