The accused allegedly deposited sanctioned cheques into their personal accounts and withdrew the funds, cheating the government and depriving genuine victims of financial assistance. Cases have been registered against them under Sections 409, 417, 419, 467 and 120(B) of the IPC, and Section 66(C) of the IT Act, and all seven were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
