The Hyderabad Monsoon Races 2015 are scheduled to start from July 16 (Thursday) and conclude on October 26, with 28 race days framed for the season.
Addressing the media today, Hyderabad Race Club chairman R Surender Reddy said an amount of Rs 11.97 crores (Rs 10 crores as stakes for the racehorse owners and Rs 1.97 crores as professional fees for the trainers and jockeys) were on offer during this season.
The racehorse owners would also get performance incentives and special incentives apart from other subsidies, he added.
He said that during the Hyderabad Monsoon Races last year, though the advertised stake money was Rs 9,92,66,000, the total actual stakes and professional fees paid were Rs 11,69,14,501.
The stakes to horse ratio offered at the HRC was the highest in the country at Rs 2.50 lakhs per horse, he claimed.
Reddy said that 23 "A" licensed trainers at the HRC would be racing during the season. Some 38 jockeys, including 8 "B" licensed and 14 apprentice jockeys would be seen in action. Besides, leading outstation trainers and jockeys would also participate in the classic and graded races, he added.
He said that 747 horses were in station, including 221 two-year-olds. Of them, some 526 horses would be participating during this season. The details of the trainers' lots area available on HRC's website, www.hydraces.com.
