Aashirwad Saxena, a promising professional cyclist from the Telangana State Cycling Association, has been selected to represent the Indian cycling team at the 44th Asian Road Cycling Championship in Phitsanulok, Thailand, from February 9 to 16, 2025.
Saxena is an international cyclist from Hyderabad. He recently secured a bronze medal in the 38th National Games.
Members of the Telangana Cycling Association and the Sports Authority of Telangana congratulated Saxena on his selection.
Malla Reddy, President of the Telangana Cycling Association and Secretary of the Telangana Olympic Association; B Vijay Kanth Rao, General Secretary; Maxwell Trevor, Chairman of the CFI Athlete Committee; and K Dattatreya, Organising Secretary praised Saxena for his achievement.
The championship is expected to bring together nearly 500 top cyclists from across the continent, including members of national teams, members of U23 and U18 youth teams, and senior athletes competing in the Master category.
