Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today took a serious stance on the ongoing controversy surrounding the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) over pass distribution, and directed Vigilance Director General Kothakota Srinivas Reddy to investigate the allegations of threats made against the SRH management by the HCA when seeking free passes, and submit detailed information.
The dispute between the SRH and the HCA has escalated and spilled over into the public domain, with the SRH management formally accusing the HCA of harassing them for free passes.
In a letter to the HCA, the SRH management claimed that they were facing unbearable harassment from HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao who was seeking free tickets. They even indicated that the SRH might consider relocating from Hyderabad due to these issues.
According to the SRH management, the HCA demanded additional complimentary tickets and threatened to cut off water and power supply to the stadium if its demands were not met.
The SRH management expressed deep frustration over the HCA's attempts to assert control, especially considering that the SRH had covered the full rental costs for hosting the IPL matches at the stadium.
The HCA denied these allegations and stated that it was simply trying to maintain the existing allocation of passes, in line with long-standing practice.
