South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the survey works for the MMTS up to Yadagirigutta were going on as planned, and tenders would be called upon in April.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Yadav said that the works would commence in either October or November. After examining the MMTS phase-II works at field level enroute Secunderabad-Moulali-Ghatkesar, Yadav said that the works of the Tellapur-Ramachandrapuram line of the MMTS Phase II would be started this December.
The second phase would be completed by 2018, he said, and explained that the department was discussing the hurdles in extending the MMTS up to Shamshabad Airport with the civil aviation department officials. Yadav also informed that a new terminal would be constructed at Charlapally spending Rs. 80 crores of State funds.
