Free Egg Mela At People's Plaza To Allay Coronavirus Fears
Over 5,000 kg of chicken and nearly 25,000 eggs will be used to cook different varieties of dishes at the mela, which will also have entertainment programs.

The Telangana Poultry Federation, the Telangana Poultry Breeders Association, the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) and the All-India Poultry Development and Service Pvt Ltd will organize a free egg mela at People's Plaza, Necklace Road, on February 28, from 4 pm.
In the wake of rumours spreading relating to coronavirus on the social media, the consumption of chicken and eggs had reportedly come down drastically across the country including in Telangana, said K G Anand, General Manager, Venkateshwara Hatcheries.
D Ram Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director, Sneha Farms Private Limited, said that to save the poultry industry from the rumours, the union government had taken steps and issued a message stating that chicken and eggs were safe to eat, and that coronavirus would not spread through eating chicken and eggs.
The organizers said that over 5,000 kg of chicken and nearly 25,000 eggs would be used to cook different varieties of dishes at the mela, which would also have entertainment programs lined up at the venue.
