Hyderabad | 27th December 2022
Following the instructions given by the Union health ministry to all State governments, hospitals in Hyderabad and several other districts held mock drills today to assess their preparedness for another outbreak of the pandemic, including the availability of beds and manpower.

In Hyderabad, the drill was conducted at Gandhi Hospital, the district hospital in King Koti, the Chest Hospital at Erragadda and the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) at Gachibowli.

During the drill, the doctors assessed the availability of beds, manpower, referral resources, testing capacity, telemedicine services and medical oxygen, medical equipment including ventilators, beds with supply of oxygen, and BiPAP machines, and the RT-PCR testing capabilities of the laboratories, among others.

Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr M Raja Rao said that the hospital had checked its preparedness in all aspects, and that the exercise helped to ready the hospital for any surge in Covid patients.
