The Telangana Sports Authority announced that all arrangements have been made for the CM Cup 2024 State-Level Competitions, to be from Dec 27 to Jan 2.
The Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) announced today that elaborate arrangements had been made for the CM Cup 2024 State-Level Competitions, scheduled to take place from December 27 to January 2 in venues across the State.
The competitions are aimed at strengthening Telangana's rural sports sector, recognizing local talent and encouraging rural athletes.
This year, para sports competitions too are being conducted as part of the event.
For the first time, the competitions have been conducted from the grassroots level, with the village, mandal and district-level rounds completed earlier this month. The preliminary rounds were held in villages on December 7 and 8, in mandals/municipalities from December 10 to 12, and in district headquarters from December 16 to 21. The competitions were held in the sub-junior, junior and senior categories. Now the State-level competitions will be held from December 27 to January 2.
The SATG said that over two lakh individuals were participating this year in various events including archery, athletics, atya patya, badminton, baseball, basketball, billiard & snooker, boxing, canoeing & kayaking, chess, cycling, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, kho-kho, kickboxing, lawn tennis, netball, powerlifting, rowing, sepak takraw, shooting, softball, squash, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, wushu and yoga.
The CM Cup 2024 is expected to witness participation from Telangana's sports associations, PETs, physical directors, voluntary organizations and numerous sports enthusiasts.
