Supreme Court Justice Madan B Lokur launched the city's first e-court at the Hyderabad High Court to make the system more transparent and expedite the judicial process.
The Justice said that the process of settling a case in any court involved large amounts of paper work and data entry, depending on the intricacies of the case. An e-court could reduce the time to enter, organize and compile data relevant to the case.
He said that additional staff members would be allotted to manage the e-court.
Besides updating the details pertaining to cases, officials should also learn technology and incorporate it into other aspects of the court work as much as possible, he suggested.
The main goals of any court should be to deliver swift service to the litigants and prevent the piling up of cases. The e-court facility would enable this by eliminating paper work and enabling the officials to update the details of the myriad cases they dealt with each day with greater ease, he added.
