Easier Water Bill Disputes Settlement
The HMSSWB Divisional General Managers and Chief General Managers have been delegated powers to settle disputes and problems in bills up to Rs. 15,000.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMSSWB) Divisional General Managers and Chief General Managers have been delegated powers to settle disputes and problems in bills up to Rs. 15,000.
Consumers whose water cess bills are more than Rs. 15,000 can approach the Board office in Khairtabad to settle the issues during the regular Prajavani program. The next Prajavani program will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010.
According to HMWSSB officials, the DGMs and CGMs have also been delegated powers to settle issues relating to change of name, correction of name, one-time settlements, metering and billing disputes, change of category, non-issuance of bills, irregular water supply, sewerage problems etc.
The decision to delegate powers to the DGMs and CGMs has been taken in view of the difficulty expressed by many consumers in attending to the Prajavani program being conducted at the Board Office, Khairatabad, even for settlement of small issues. Subsequently, the HMWSSB has decided to organize the Prajavani program also at the division level for the convenience of the general public.
