The shutdown will be in effect from 6 am on September 9 to 6 am on September 11.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced a 48-hour disruption in water supply across several parts of the city.
The shutdown will be in effect from 6 am on September 9 to 6 am on September 11.
The disruption is said to be necessary to carry out valve replacement work on the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Phase-I project. Engineers will replace 900 mm diameter valves installed on the 3,000 mm diameter MS pumping main at the Murmur, Mallaram and Kondapak pumping stations.
According to a press release, the following areas will be affected:
S R Nagar division: S R Nagar, Sanathnagar, Borabanda, Erragadda, Banjara Hills, parts of Jubilee Hills, Somajiguda and Fatehnagar
Kukatpally division: Kukatpally, Bhagyanagar, KPHB, Moosapet, Bharatnagar and surrounding localities
North Hyderabad: Chintal, Suchitra, Jeedimetla, Shapur Nagar, Alwal, Moula Ali, Kapra and Charlapally
IT corridor: Kondapur, Gachibowli, Nallagandla, Miyapur, Hafeezpet and parts of Madhapur
Other zones: Kompally, Nizampet, Bachupally, Pragathinagar, Pocharam and nearby areas
HMWSSB authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown period.
