TRS Demands Hike In SCCL Profit Share For Employees
TRS MLA T Harish Rao says Kiran Kumar Reddy had responded positively to his demand of an increase in the share of profits for the employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Tuesday, assured a delegation from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi that he would look into the increase of the share of profits to employees from existing 16% to 25%, after a discussion with the management of Singareni Collieries Company Limited.
Talking to reporters at the media point at the state Secretariat, TRS MLA T Harish Rao said that the delegation had appealed to the Chief Minister to increase the share of profit in Singareni Collieries to 25% from the existing 16%.
He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy had responded positively to the demand, and that he had assured him that he would look into it.
He said that he had also urged Kiran Kumar Reddy to prevail upon the management of Singareni Collieries to waive the advance of Rs. 25,000 given during the general strike of Telangana employees, as production of coal has now increased.
Harish Rao also appealed to the Chief Minister to establish a medical college in Singareni Collieries, apart from constituting a coordination committee for finding ways and means for the same.
He also urged the Chief Minister to look into promotions of the lower level staff working in Power Distribution companies in the Telangana region.
Responding to a query on Telangana state formation, he said that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was making sincere efforts in New Delhi, and expressed confidence that the Centre might take a decision on it by the end of September.
Accusing a section of people with business interests of obstructing the formation of a Telangana state, he warned the government of serious consequences if it fails to take a decision on the statehood issue.
The TRS leader reiterated that the Congress would be wiped out from the region if it fails to announce a decision on the bifurcation of the state. (INN)
