Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders will call on President of India Pranab Mukherjee over the issue of the State Reorganisation Bill.
Speaking to media persons at the Assembly media point, TRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao said that the TRS delegation would lodge a complaint against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for stalling the debate on the Telangana Bill in the House. He said that the Assembly had failed to discuss the Bill although the parties had given assurances in the Business Advisory Committee meeting for the same.
Harish Rao also accused Speaker Nandendla Manohar of having failed to run the House properly. He alleged that while TDP and YSRCP legislators from the Seemandhra region were blackmailing the Speaker, the latter was also being pressurised by the Chief Minister.
He described the stalling of the Assembly proceedings as a drama being enacted by the Seemandhra legislators. He also condemned the frequent adjournments of the House.
The TRS leader wondered how, when the Congress could pass the Lokpal Bill amid pandemonium, it could not pass the Telangana Bill in the Legislative Assembly. (INN)
