The high-voltage election campaign for the Munugodu Assembly constituency by-election came to an end today.
With the three major political parties - TRS, Congress and BJP - considering the by-election as a semi-final for the 2023 Assembly elections and a do-or-die battle, the constituency witnessed extremely charged campaigning during the last month.
The by-election will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM on November 3. A total of 47 candidates are in the fray. The ruling TRS has fielded Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as its candidate, former MLA Rajagopal Reddy is contesting on the BJP ticket, and Palvai Sravanthi is testing her luck on behalf of the Congress.
According to officials, there are a total of 2,41,855 voters, including 50 service and 5,685 postal voters, in the constituency.
To ensure security for the election, a total of 3,366 State police personnel and 15 Central para-military forces have been deployed in the constituency. 100 check-posts have also been erected at various places across the constituency.
