Telangana Municipal Elections Record High Polling
Elections for the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, the Khammam Municipal Corporation and the Atchampet municipality of Telangana passed off peacefully.
Elections for the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, the Khammam Municipal Corporation and the Atchampet municipality of Telangana passed off peacefully.
While the Atchampet municipality elections recorded a voting percentage of 72, Warangal managed 56 percent voting, and Khammam registered 67 percent.
People who had entered the queues by 5 pm were allowed to vote.
The results will be announced on March 9, and the elections for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts for the Warangal and Khammam corporations, and for the Chairman and Deputy Chairman posts for the Atchampet civic body, will be held on March 15.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and his family members cast their votes at Bank Colony in Warangal, and the Roads and Buildings minister cast his vote at Golla Gudem in Khammam on Sunday.
MLAs Challa Dharma Reddy and Vinay Bhaskar also cast their votes along with their family members in Warangal.
