Warangal, Khammam, Achampet Civic Polls On March 6
Elections to Telangana's Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations and the Achampet municipality will be held on March 6, and the results will be out on March 9.

Elections to the Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations and the Achampet municipality will be held on March 6, 2016, and the results will be declared on March 9.
The State Election Commissioner today released the schedule for the civic body elections. The process of filing nominations for the elections will begin on Monday (February 22) and will close on February 24. The scrutiny of the papers will be done on February 25, and February 26 will be the last date for the withdrawal of nominations.
There are 58 wards in the Warangal municipal corporation and 50 wards in the Khammam municipal corporation. The State government has recently finalized the reservations in both the corporations. Of the 50 wards in Khammam, nine have been reserved for BC general, eight each for BCs and general women, and three each for SC women and SC general. One ward has been earmarked for ST woman.
Of the 58 wards in the Warangal municipal corporation, one ward has been reserved for ST general, five each for SC general and women, ten for BC general, and nine for BC women.
As the ruling TRS swept the elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation recently by a thumping majority, and followed it up with a victory in the Narayankhed Assembly by-election, the leaders and cadre of the TRS are confident that the pink Party will repeat the show in these elections, too.
