Revelling in TRS' clean sweep in the Acchampet nagar panchayat polls and landslide victories in the Warangal and Khammam municipal corporation elections, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today congratulated the people for reposing confidence in his government.
The Chief Minister attributed the magnificent victories in the three civic body elections to the welfare schemes and developmental programs of the government.
"The people continue to bless us as they are happy with our schemes," KCR said, and called upon his ministers to strive to keep the promises made and win the people's hearts.
"With these results, our responsibility has grown, and the entire administration will function more efficiently," the Chief Minister said, and reassured the citizens that he would keep all the promises made during poll campaign.
KCR also commended his ministers for their efforts in the electioneering process that paid rich dividends. Those who got a pat from KCR at the camp office were minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, MLA G Balaraju and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy.
The ruling Party broke the records by winning all the 20 seats in the Acchampet nagar panchayat, and also got 44 of the 58 divisions in Warangal and 34 of the 50 divisions in the Khammam municipal corporations for which elections were held on March 6.
The Telugu Desam Party was routed as it could not win even a single division anywhere. The Congress won four and 10 divisions in Warangal and Khammam respectively. The BJP managed to win only one seat, in Warangal, where nine independents (rebel TRS candidates) also won.
The CPI, CPI-M and YSRCP won two seats each in Khammam.
