Hyderabad | 10th July 2022
A red alert has been sounded by the meteorological department for tonight, tomorrow and the morning session of the day after regarding the heavy rains.

The met stated that there was a heavy cloud cover over the entire State. A lot of flooding, overflowing of rivulets and lakes, roads getting damanged and so on were expected which would throw regular life out of gear, it said.

All educational institutions have been closed by the State government for three days as a precautionary measure.

The Hyderabad police advised the general public that in view of the expected heavy rains, they should avoid non-essential travel, and watch the weather and rain forecasts before venturing out.

All precautions must be taken in and around their homes too, the police added.

The police has deployed both its traffic and its law and order officers for night duties, equipping them with raincoats, shoes and other disaster management equipment like ropes, pumps and so on, activated coordination with GHMC teams, and put the NDRF on alert.
