Rains Lash Several Areas In Hyderabad

Rain brought much-needed relief today to Hyderabad's residents who had been reeling under sweltering heat.

Showers lashed several parts of the city. Moderate rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds, was reported in Begum Bazaar, Koti, Sultan Bazaar, Abids, Basheer Bagh, Nampally, Liberty, Himayatnagar, Narayanaguda, Lakdikapool, Tank Bund and other areas. The rains also caused flooding in some areas, and motorists and pedestrians faced difficulties due to waterlogging and rainwater flowing onto the roads.

Vehicular traffic was also disrupted, with vehicles stranded for kilometres in several parts of the city.

Rains affected various other parts of the State as well. The reason is said to be a surface-level cyclonic circulation.

The Meteorological Department has already issued warnings forecasting rainfall across Telangana for the next three days, and issued yellow and orange alerts for several districts across the State, due to this weather pattern. Winds are expected to blow at 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.
