Reacting to the Sandhya theatre stampede, Telangana DGP Dr Jitender today said that the police held no personal biases in any crime.
He also said that all citizens must act responsibly towards the society.
The DGP made this statement during the inauguration of a Bharosa centre at Kothapalli in the Karimnagar district.
He described the Sandhya theatre stampede as unfortunate, and clarified that the police were not targeting actor Allu Arjun.
"We have taken action against him in accordance with the law. The safety and security of the citizens are of utmost importance. Film promotion cannot take precedence over public safety. For the protection of citizens, we have also registered a case against actor Mohan Babu regarding his assault on a journalist. Action will follow as per the law," he said.
The DGP reiterated the State government's commitment to ensuring the safety of women and children, and claimed that efforts were on round the clock to that end.
"The Telangana government's Bharosa centres are turning into role models, with officials from other States visiting these centres. The centres will enhance the safety of women and children. Women facing any issues can approach the centres, where legal experts and doctors are available to address their concerns," the DGP added.
