The Hyderabad police today released a 10-minute video detailing the happenings on the fateful day at the Sandhya 70mm theatre during Allu Arjun's
Pushpa 2 premier show.
The video purports to show what actually happened on December 4 and how the police handled it.
It shows the security team of the actor pushing the unruly crowd inside the theatre, and the police performing CPR on the boy in the wake of the incident.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand said that the police had already communicated to the management of the theatre that the actor should not be invited to the theatre due to the possibility of an uncontrolled situation and a stampede, but that the theatre manager acted negligently despite that.
The Commissioner also claimed that they advised the film actor to leave the theatre. "However, the manager did not let us go to Allu Arjun. With great difficulty, we pushed through the crowd and went to tell Arjun about the matter. The actor said that he would go only after watching the movie. After waiting for 10 minutes, we brought Arjun out from the theatre," he said.
"I cannot say anything about the case. However, the investigation into the incident is going on, and legal advice will be taken before proceeding," he said.
Explaining the incident, Chikkadapally ACP Ramesh Kumar said that when the actor visited the theatre, the situation was already out of control, resulting in a stampede that led to death of the woman and life-altering injury to her son.
