Minister for Finance T Harish Rao directed the management of Trident Sugar Factory at Zaheerabad to clear all their pending bills of sugarcane farmers immediately.
The minister held a meeting with Zaheerabad MP B B Patil, MLA Manik Rao, district Collector Sarath and SP Ramana Kumar at his camp office today and reviewed the progress of the pending bills.
The management of Trident Sugar Factory located at Kothuru village in Zaheerabad mandal of Sangareddy district had procured sugarcane from farmers in the last season but failed to clear the pending amount worth about Rs 12.05 crore.
Rao expressed anger at the factory management failing to clear the amount by June 25, the due date for clearing the dues promised by the management.
"If the money is not paid to farmers on time, the factory properties will be auctioned and the pending dues will be paid to farmers under the Revenue Recovery Act," Rao warned the factory.
He also asked the management to clear the arrears of its employees immediately.
