Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao has now been appointed the new president of the All India Industrial Exhibition Society at Nampally in Hyderabad, which also makes him the president of the organising body of Numaish, a famed annual consumer exhibition held in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao thanked the society for choosing to elect him as the new president, and also promised to work for the betterment of the society and to ensure the continuance of its special programs for poor students.
"The exhibition society has been successful in organising Numaish in a grand manner for the past 80 years. I will support it and take it to new heights. Also, with the support of the CM, the society will be able to garner international recognition for its activities. Further, we will provide the necessary skilling and training to students at the institutes operated by the body to help them get secure employment," he added.
Reports say that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was the one who had instructed the exhibition society to pick the minister as its new head after former minister Etala Rajender was removed from the post following his dismissal from the KCR Cabinet.
Ever since Rajender vacated the post, the exhibition society had been looking for another minister who could replace him.
