BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao today announced the name of Dr Marepalli Sudhir Kumar as the party's candidate for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat.
Sudhir Kumar is a resident of Hanumakonda district and hails from the Madiga community. He is currently the Chairman of the Hanumakonda Zilla Parishad.
Kumar, who has been a Telangana activist since 2001, has also been with the BRS and working with KCR since right then, and was unanimously approved by the undivided Warangal district party leaders.
Dr Kadiyam Kavya, Kadiyam Srihari's daughter, is the Congress candidate for the same seat, and Aroori Ramesh is the BJP candidate.
The seat is reserved for SCs.
