The CBI Special Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on the CBI's petition for the custody of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy for 15 days, to Thursday.
The Special Court, after hearing the CBI's petition, directed Gali's counsel to file a counter petition by Wednesday evening.
The Court also directed the investigating agency to submit all key documents, cash, jewellery and other records seized during the raids in Bellary and Bangalore.
It asked the CBI to submit a comprehensive report on the need for seeking Gali Janardhana Reddy's custody for 15 days.
The Court asked the probing agency to file a counter petition on the bail petition of Gali Janardhana Reddy and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) director B Srinivas Reddy.
Meanwhile, Gali's counsels argued that there was no need to send him to the CBI's custody as they said the remand report was incomplete.
They also appealed to the Court to direct the CBI to produce substantial evidence on the basis of which he was arrested.
The Special Court finally adjourned the case to further hearing on Thursday. (INN)
