Former Minister Yerneni Sita Devi Passes Away

Former AP minister and former director of Vijaya Dairy Yerneni Sita Devi passed away due to a heart attack in Hyderabad.

Former minister and former director of Vijaya Dairy Yerneni Sita Devi passed away due to a heart attack in Hyderabad today.

She was elected as the MLA for the Mudinepalli Assembly constituency two times on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), in 1985 and 1994. In 1988, she served as Minister of Education in then chief minister N T Rama Rao's cabinet.

Devi's body was shifted to her native place of Kodur village in Kaikaluru mandal in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh.

Many leaders irrespective of political parties condoled the death of Sita Devi. TDP president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his grief over the death of Sita Devi, and prayed for her soul to rest in peace. He said that Sita Devi had left her mark on the education department, and had done many things for the development of Andhra Pradesh.
