Veteran tribal leader and former Yellandu MLA Uke Abbayya (70) is no more.
Abbayya, who had been suffering from health problems for some time, passed away today in the early hours while undergoing treatment for age-related health issues at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
Abbayya was elected as an MLA for the first time from Burgampadu in 1983, as a CPI candidate. He was elected to the Assembly again in 1994 and 2009, this time from Yellandu constituency, on behalf of the TDP.
