Top political leaders in the Telugu States today expressed their grief over the passing of industrialist Ratan Tata, who passed away at the age of 86 in Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital late on Wednesday night.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep shock at the death of the veteran industrialist.
In a tweet today, the Chief Minister said that he was deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Tata, one of India's greatest industrialists.
"A visionary leader, humanitarian and legendary figure in India's corporate world, Shri Tata's life was an extraordinary journey of humility and success," he said.
"Under Ratan Tata's exceptional leadership, the Tata brand soared to unparalleled heights, conquering new horizons and filling every Indian with pride. His unmatched contributions to making India a global industrial power have left an indelible mark. Ratan Tata's legacy of business excellence, unwavering ethics and commitment to social goodwill continue to inspire generations, especially the youth of an aspirational and enterprising India. His contributions will be remembered forever and his spirit will continue to guide us," Reddy said.
The Chief Minister added that with the passing away of Tata, India had lost not only an industrial icon but also a beloved son who embodied the true spirit of service and integrity, and that there would never be another like him.
Reddy extended his condolences to the Tata family.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Abdul Nazeer too expressed profound grief and sadness on the passing away of Tata.
Nazeer said that Tata was well-known not only for his contributions to the business world but also for his philanthropy, and offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet too condoled the death of Tata. CM Chandrababu Naidu eulogized the services rendered by the industrialist to the nation during a Cabinet meeting, praising Tata for creating a huge brand with business values. The Cabinet observed a two-minute silence to condole the death, and the CM and ministers paid floral tributes to a portrait of Tata on the occasion. Later, Naidu and minister Nara Lokesh left for Mumbai.
Former AP CM and YSRCP supremo Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy too extended his heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Tata. Jagan said that he was a visionary leader and a true icon of Indian industry, and had an unwavering commitment to integrity, innovation and philanthropy. He said that Tata's legacy would continue to inspire generations to come.
