TDP boss and former CM Chandrababu Naidu welcomed Kanna into the party's fold in the presence of a massive number of the supporters of the veteran politician.
Former minister and senior politician Kanna Lakshminarayana today joined the Telugu Desam Party.
The national president of the party and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu welcomed Kanna into the party's fold in the presence of a massive number of the supporters of the veteran politician.
He joined the TDP at 2:48 pm, which was the muhurat fixed for the event.
Hundreds of supporters of Kanna also joined the TDP on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering later, Naidu said that the entry of Kanna into the party was a good development. He said that he was welcoming the former minister full of love.
Kanna had carved a place for himself in the political sector of the State, Naidu said. After starting his career as a student leader, Kanna had grown in his political life continuously, winning as MLA five times in a row and also working as a minister from 2004 to 2014, the TDP boss said. However, what stood out about Kanna was that always worked with commitment and dedication, Naidu claimed.
Naidu also said that political posts were not permanent in public life, and that the interests of the State were what were most important to him. He also asked the people of the State to join hands to unseat the ruling YSRCP from power in the next Assembly elections.
Earlier Kanna took out a massive rally with his supporters from his residence in Guntur. Hundreds of his supporters took part in the rally in hundreds of vehicles, and raised slogans in support of their leader.
For the uninitiated, Kanna resigned from the BJP on the 16th of this month.
